Lewisville Information

Lewisville  is a city in Denton County, Texas. It is south of Lewisville Lake and north of Grapevine.

Over the past 10 years, the population has increased from about 75,000 to over 100,000. It is one of the oldest incorporated cities (incorporated in 1925) in the northern area of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Lewisville did not grow at a normal rate. In fact, up until the early 1970's, it had a population of only a few thousand people. The city's growth began to jump due to its close proximity to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, only a few miles to the city's south.  In fact, Lewisville was the corporate headquarters for food distributor Fleming Foods and Grandy's.
The increase of retail also helped with the addition of the Vista Ridge Mall, which expanded shopping for Lewisville and surrounding communities.
